Business School Exceeds Expectations

A new business skills workshop titled "Exceeding expectations in training" has achieved top marks from its first class. Participants at the Jersey Business School described their experience at Highland College as filled with new ideas on how to transfer skills.

Sarah Sheehy of Barclays Bank said it was "the best course I’ve attended and something every trainer should experience".

The initial class of twelve training specialists were shown a variety of new techniques in designing and delivering learning events to make them memorable. One of the features was the use of music and story telling to stimulate memory and thought processes. The course leader, Clive Bonny, explained that the design of the programme had been tuned into the learning styles of the participants.

"Learning events should be designed around the style of the learners not the trainers" says Clive, who is planning further courses in February and July.
